SESSION 2026

Yorùbá Basics Summer Camp is a fun, immersive program designed for learners ages 4 and up to speak, understand, and love Yorùbá language and culture. We blend games, music, storytelling, and art so kids learn without realizing they are in “class.” By summer’s end, your child will confidently greet elders, hold basic conversations, and feel proud of their heritage. Perfect for Nigerian diaspora kids who want to bridge the language gap and virtually connect to their cultural roots.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN

We follow a fun and learner-centered curriculum, built around the pillars of Yorùbá.

  • LANGUAGE- Our curriculum is equipped with all the language skills as well as the most important pillar of Yorùbá pronunciation (tones). We do not teach vocabulary in isolation; we teach vocabulary in real-life contexts. That way, our students get comfortable and confident with their conversation. We reinforce learning using group conversations, listening exercises, practicals, and many more activities.

  • CULTURE - Language cannot be isolated from culture. So, your kids will also learn about Yorùbá etiquette: dressing, food, arts, occupations, and many other interesting aspects of the people of Yorùbá

  • HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY- Your kids will have the opportunity to connect with their roots through a virtual field trip.

  • FOLKTALES & POEMS- This is particularly suitable for our younger learners. They will get to listen to different folktales as well as learn various poems to aid in their learning.
